Vizha lists Tamil community events in Denmark. Reading it needs no account, and it stores very little about the people who use it. The one thing it collects from a visitor — how many people visit — only happens if you say yes.

Two things do involve giving us your details, and both are optional and described below: sending us an event, and being invited to manage an organisation’s page.

What stays on your device

Events you star are saved on your own device and are never sent to us. We cannot see them, export them or delete them, because we never receive them. In the app, reminders for saved events are scheduled by your phone itself — there are no push notifications and no device tokens.

What we collect

• Visitor numbers, but only if you agree. Vizha uses Google Analytics to count page views — how many people find the listing and which pages they open. Nothing is loaded and nothing is sent until you choose: if you have not answered the banner, or you said no, no request reaches Google at all. That is also why the numbers undercount, and we would rather undercount than measure people who did not agree.
  Only page views are collected. The other things Google Analytics can measure by default — scrolling, clicks to other sites, what you type into search, form activity, video and downloads — are all switched off. Google acts as our data processor; it is a US company, and agreeing means your visit is counted there.
  You can change your mind at any time with Cookie choice at the bottom of any page. Whichever you pick is remembered for six months, including “no” — you will not be asked again on every visit.
• If you send us an event. The form asks for a poster or a link, and optionally a note and your email address. The email is there so we can ask if something is unclear, and it is used for nothing else. We delete it as soon as the event is added. If we cannot use what you sent, the whole submission — email included — is deleted after 30 days. The poster you send may be published on Vizha.
• If you manage an organisation’s page. Organisers are invited by us; there is no public sign-up. We hold your email address and the name you go by, a sign-in session, and a record of what you changed and when — so that two people at the same organisation can see who did what.
  There is no password. Signing in sends a link that works once and expires in fifteen minutes, so there is no credential of yours for us to store or leak.
  Ask us and we will delete your account. The record of changes stays, because it is the organisation’s history rather than yours, but it stops naming you — it will say “a removed account” instead.
• Server logs. Vizha’s own containers rotate their logs automatically, so old entries are discarded rather than kept indefinitely. The web server that sits in front of Vizha may separately record the IP address a request came from; that is used only to keep the service running and to deal with abuse.
• Your language choice, stored in a cookie on your device so the site opens in the right language. A preference, not a tracker.
• How you like events listed — large cards, two per row, or a compact list — and whether you prefer light or dark, stored in cookies on your device so the site keeps what you picked. Also preferences, not trackers.

Event information

Event details and organiser contacts published here are already public — an office email, a listed phone number, a Facebook page. We do not publish private contact details for individuals.

Event posters are supplied by organisers and may show photographs of people. If you appear in one and want it removed, write to us and we will remove it.

Your rights

Under the GDPR you may request access to, correction of, or erasure of any personal data we hold, and you may complain to Datatilsynet. Because Vizha holds so little, most requests are answered quickly.
